It’s getting cold, and many senior citizens are expected to need help covering the costs of staying warm all winter.
The Springfield Department of Elder Affairs has teamed up with the New England Farm Workers’ fuel assistance program to help.
They began signing up applicants at the Raymond A. Jordan Senior center Wednesday. The program helped 8,000 people last year, 3,000 of whom were elderly.
