Rally against fascism held in Springfield

Dozens gathered at Court Square in Springfield Saturday for a rally against fascism.

Springfield United Against Fascism organized the rally to educate people, and show the city of Springfield that the community is a welcoming, supportive, and safe place.

Trevor Maloney of Springfield told 22News, “I think anytime that there is a chance that fascists are going to show up and spew their hateful violent message and try to recruit people over to their side, I think it’s important that the community shows up and says no, not in our town.”

Similar rallies were held across the country Saturday.
