RMV still dealing with long wait times and website issues


Some drivers with business at the Registry of Motor Vehicles are still complaining of long lines that extend their visit to the Springfield office.

The Registry of Motor Vehicles says their website can handle most of the drivers’ needs, thereby eliminating a trip to the registry office at the Springfield Plaza.

But Eric Faniel told 22News the website let him down when he tried to have his driver’s license renewed.

“I went through all my files,” Faniel explained. “Pulled out my birth certificate, got the page ready to pay my $50 and they said ‘No, you have to come to the RMV because there’s something wrong with your birth certificate.'”

Yet another driver told 22News that something the registry office personnel said would take several minutes took two and a half hours because of the long lines.
