President Trump has nominated Federal Appeals Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to serve as an Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Kavanaugh currently serves on the Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
He’s expected to be less receptive to abortion and gay rights than the justice he would replace, Anthony Kennedy. He’s also has favored limits on investigating the president.
Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey told 22News that Kavanaugh is a dangerous pick.
“I think we can do a lot better in this country,” Markey said. “But we’ll see what happens. Each one of the members of the Senate will have to decide for themselves, but on my part, I cannot vote for Brett Kavanaugh.”
Kavanaugh was on Capitol Hill Tuesday to meet with some of the Senators who will decide his future.
