Sobriety checkpoint scheduled in Hampden County for August 15

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – There will be a sobriety checkpoint in Hampden County Thursday into Friday.

According to the Massachusetts State Police Office of Media Relations, the sobriety checkpoint will be conducted during varied hours on a public way in Hampden County. 

Massachusetts State Police says the selection of vehicles will not be random, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety.

New impaired driving campaign focuses on young men

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement mobilization kicks off on August 14thand runs through Labor Day.  141 local police departments will be conducting zero tolerance patrols targeting drivers impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.
