The Springfield Garden Club has received a national award and four state level awards for
the standard flower show, “Rooted in the Past and Still Growing”, held October 20 and 21, 2017 at The Wood Museum of Springfield History, in Springfield.
The show earned the club the National Garden Club Standard Flower Show Achievement Award for a flower show staged in a public building.
According to a news release sent to 22News by the Springfield Garden Club, it received several awards recently on the state level.
The club received the Ruth A. Wallack Schedule Award,a silver tray, for most creative design division, The Arrangers of Marblehead Flower Show Award for staging and the Margaret E. Marsh Flower Show Achievement Award, a silver bowl, were awarded to the club by the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts (GCFM).
The GCFM also presented the club with a first prize award for their press book documenting the club’s centennial year and recognized the club’s 90 year membership in the GCFM.
The Springfield Garden Club is comprised of members from Springfield as well as most surrounding towns and as far away as Rhode Island.
