Springfield man pleads guilty to heroin distribution

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – 27-year-old Luis Oppenheimer could be sentenced to 20 years in prison for selling heroin to an undercover federal agent.

Oppenheimer, who is from Springfield, pleaded guilty Monday in federal court. Oppenheimer admitted he sold heroin to the agent in Springfield in October of 2013.

The transaction was recorded on video. Oppenheimer’s co-conspirator, Jose Vargas, pleaded guilty to the same charges in March.

Sentencing is scheduled for August 20th.
