SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds gathered at the Postal Service’s Springfield Network Distribution Center Tuesday to honor three employees who saved the life of a co-worker.

Back in June, an employee at the center was found unconscious. The three workers, Samantha Glazebrook, Amy Deluca, and Leonard Gannetti, Jr., used an automated external defibrillator, along with CPR to save him. Their quick actions saved a colleague who was in cardiac arrest.

“In that moment, I think all three of us were like we just need to do what we were trained to do. I don’t think we thought about it, we just got in there and did it and after it was over we had time to think about it and that’s when the emotions started to come for us,” Glazebrook said.

The three are part of the facility’s medical emergency response team, and have received specialized training. They serve the More than 1,300 employees that work in the Springfield facility.
