Springfield Regional Chambers supporting group to help fight human trafficking

The Springfield Regional Chambers voted unanimously this week to endorse the western Massachusetts Businesses Against Human Trafficking pledge.

The group was created by MGM Springfield, and aims to support work being done by law enforcement and other groups to help fight human trafficking.

A licensed social worker is working with the coalition of businesses to help them raise awareness about the issue of human trafficking, and better work with police and community groups to fight it.

According to the Chamber, this is the first “coordinated effort by the business community in Massachusetts to combat human trafficking.”
