Forest Park residents got the chance to meet Democrats running for office Thursday.
The Springfield Ward 6 Democratic Committee held a candidates forum federal and state races in the September primary.
Candidates outlined their platforms and spoke with residents at Forest Park Middle School about the issues they hope to resolve.
“I’m proud to be able to take the time and energy and effort to make sure that people get to talk to their elected representatives and those who hope to be elected representatives,” Amaad Rivera, a candidate for State Senate, told 22News. “This was exciting. Great turnout. Great moment. I’m glad that we were able to have this.”
The state primary takes place in just a couple of weeks on September 4, the day after Labor Day.
