The Springfield Rotary Club hosted it’s first ever “Chalk It Up Sidewalk Art Festival” Saturday at the Springfield Museums.
Hundreds of local students participated in the event, showing off their very own chalk art on the Quadrangle sidewalks.
A dozen professional artists were on hand to guide students who needed extra help.
Children were also let into the Springfield Museums free of charge to help give them inspiration.
Jack Toner of the Springfield Rotary Club told 22News, “I think it’s awesome. It’s high energy. It brings people to downtown and it really helps build the brand awareness of the museum. It’s a great asset for the city of Springfield.”
The Springfield Rotary Club has served and supported non-profit organizations for over 20 years.
