Springfield’s Ronald McDonald House hosts first Red Shoe Run

News

Springfield’s Ronald McDonald House received a financial boost Saturday during its first Red Shoe Run.

The 5K road race began in front of the iconic Ronald McDonald House, near Baystate Medical Center.

Organizers said they were pleased with the turnout and hope to make the Red Shoe Run an annual fundraising event.

Anna Marie Golden of the Ronald McDonald House told 22News, “It was a swell idea that we had that came together and made the event successful today.”

The Ronald McDonald House in Springfield is where parents can stay to be close to their children being cared for at the Springfield Shriner’s Hospital.
