BOSTON, Mass. (WWLP) – An ordinance banning plastic shopping bags in Boston awaits Mayor Marty Walsh’s signature.
Walsh has until tomorrow to either sign, veto, or allow the ordinance to become law. Walsh has said he has issues with the proposal in its present form.
Several western Massachusetts cities and towns ban retailers from using plastic bags.
Northampton and Amherst put their restrictions into effect last year.
