Fathers calling on lawmakers to put more changing tables in men’s bathrooms

An instagram post showed a father changing his son in a public bathroom, but not on a changing table because there weren’t any.

Donte Palmer was out with his three children when his one-year-old son needed changing.

According to his post on Instagram, Donte took his youngest son into the men’s bathroom only to find there were no changing tables.

He then crouched in a squatting position in a stall, and laid his son across his lap to change his diaper.

It’s a problem many dad’s face, and now they’re calling on legislators to make changes to public bathrooms all across the country.

State Senator Eric Lesser said he’s experienced this problem himself. He said all public bathrooms should have changing tables, regardless of gender.

And he said he’ll work to make that happen in Massachusetts.

Donte’s post caught national attention online, many dads told their stories of struggling to change their young children without having access to changing tables.

Almost all women’s bathrooms are equipped with baby changing tables, but that isn’t the case for men’s bathrooms, and dads are demanding change.
