Labor Day expected to impact number of absentee voters

Boston Statehouse

In a matter of days, Massachusetts voters will be casting their ballots.

The state primaries take place on Tuesday, the day after Labor Day.

If you’re looking for an absentee ballot you’re out of luck. The deadline to submit your application was this Friday by 5 p.m.

Many think the long weekend will impact voter turnout across the state.

Voters who are going to be away for the holiday weekend and not returning for Primary Day were encouraged to vote in person at their town or city hall.

There will be more than 4 million voters eligible to vote. More than half are unenrolled.

Polls will be open across the state Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
