Lt. Gov. Polito working to bring broadband connection to smaller communities

Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito was back in western Massachusetts Thursday night and met with the Russell Town Select Board.

Lt. Gov. Polito said she makes it a point to visit all 351 cities and towns that make up Massachusetts and work to help them better their communities. She said she is working with Gov. Baker to bring a broadband connection to the smaller communities across the state. 

“Primary issue for making sure that all the last mile communities have a plan to connect,” Lt. Gov. Polito told 22News. “This is a public safety issue, public health issue, and education issue a property value issue.”

Lt. Gov. Polito also visited Peru and Otis Thursday afternoon, checking on their progress to connect to the internet via broadband.
