State lawmakers are considering legalizing sports betting in Massachusetts.
Representative Joseph Wagner says he and and House Speaker Robert DeLeo have had several conversations about sports betting since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled last month that state’s can decide on their own whether to allow wagers.
DeLeo says it would be difficult to see the House taking action on sports betting before formal sessions end July 31.
But Rep. Wagner says he is working on developing a plan to legalize sports betting for the 2019-2020 session.
