State considering home delivery service for recreational marijuana

Boston Statehouse

(WWLP) – You might soon be able to get marijuana delivered right to your doorstep.

Currently, people have to go to a retail marijuana shop to buy recreational pot. But if passed, you wouldn’t even have to leave your house to get marijuana from one of the retail pot shops in the state.

State marijuana regulators gave the “okay” for home delivery of legal recreational pot.

In a 4-1 vote, the State’s Cannabis Control Commission gave preliminary approval to the policy. It could begin later this year after a final vote, and after regulations are put in place.

If it passes, delivery businesses could pick up products from retail pot shops, and deliver them right to your door except in the dozens of municipalities that have banned retail pot sales.

A final vote on detailed delivery regulations is expected in mid-May.
