Staying cool in hot, sticky, humid weather

It’s hot, it’s sticky outside and people in Springfield had to find ways to stay cool.

22News went to Forest Park in Springfield and found some people sitting in the shade with a drink in hand.

Others had some fun playing and running through the splash-pad park.

“I’m going to go in the swimming pool and the sprinklers,” Isiah Rodriguez told 22News.

Niveah Santana said, “It’s really cold but it feels nice.”

Springfield has opened several cooling centers at city libraries and community centers to help anyone who needs a place to cool off.

The cooling centers will also be open Tuesday according to Mayor Domenic Sarno.
