A long-running western Massachusetts food festival has been canceled this summer.
West Springfield’s Taste of the Valley event will not take place this year due to weather concerns and a disagreement on when and how long the festival should run.
The annual event which features food vendors, live music and rides are hosted by the Rotary Club of West Springfield.
Mayor William Reichelt, who is a member of the organization, told 22News the weekend-long event will take the year off to reevaluate what needs to be done to make the event more successful.
This would have been Taste of the Valley’s 18th year in West Springfield.
