CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – WWLP has begun broadcasting The CW Springfield on its second digital channel, 22.2. The station is also being carried on Comcast channels 16 and 820, and coming soon, The CW Springfield will also be carried on Charter Cable channels 13 and 788.

On Monday, April 13, 22News at 10 p.m. will premiere on The CW Springfield. President and General Manager of WWLP-22News Bill Pepin said, “We are extremely pleased to offer our viewers a 10 p.m. newscast. Historically, 22News has been the dominant news source in western Massachusetts. A dramatically higher number of local viewers watch 22News over the alternatives in the market. Up to this point, WWLP was not able to offer a 10 p.m. newscast due to our obligations to carry NBC prime programming on our primary channel. Now, our affiliation with the CW on 22.2 allows us to provide our top-rated news to the local market in an earlier late news time period.”

In addition to 22News at 10 p.m., WWLP’s local lifestyle program Mass Appeal, which airs weekdays at 11 a.m., will re-air at 1 p.m. on the CW Springfield starting April 1.

The CW’s prime time schedule includes shows such as Jane the Virgin, Arrow, The Flash, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, The 100, Supernatural, Reign, The Messengers, and iZombie. Local viewers will be able to watch Springfield native, Paige Turco, in the cast of The 100.Click here to learn more about The CW Springfield, and the exciting programs on their schedule!
