Snow Thursday, and cleanup Friday has been keeping tow truck drivers busy.
Spinouts, crashes, and cars stuck in the snow were a common sight Thursday night. Interstate Towing in Chicopee said once the snow started, the calls never stopped coming in.
The company said they received calls to tow as many as ten cars at a time from particularly slippery stretches of roadway,
“Every other minute the phone was ringing with a different location, another car off the road,” Stephen Gonneville, the manager said. “Between the Mass Pike, all the local towns, West Springfield, Agawam, Southwick, at one point, there was just so many calls, trucks would clear up and I would just send them back out to the Mass Pike and different areas we were covering.”
Between removing cars that were left in the snow to dealing with more accidents on Friday, the company said it was still incredibly busy.
