A teen and two young adults were taken to the hospital following a one-car accident on Route 116 in South Hadley Friday morning.

South Hadley Police Chief Steven Parentela told 22News the driver, a 20-year-old Amherst man, and his passengers, a 16-year-old Amherst girl and a 20-year-old man from Shutesbury, suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Parentela said the driver was traveling north on College Street at around 7:36 a.m. when he crashed into a telephone pole. The car then came to a stop against a tree near Brock Way and caught fire.

Viewer video sent to ReportIt@wwlp.com show firefighters and police officers working together to put out the fire, which was located near the engine.

Parentela said police are continuing to look into what led up to the crash.
