An accident involving several big-rigs closed all of the eastbound lanes of the Mass Pike Friday morning.
Four tractor-trailers spun out and collided on the Mass Pike in Brimfield early Friday.
One of the trailers stretched across the highway, forcing the closure of the eastbound lanes for hours.
Eastbound traffic was directed off the pike at Exit 8 in Palmer, forcing drivers to take Route 20 to the Sturbridge interchange where they got back on I-90.
22News spoke with one driver who was very late picking his daughter up from school in Boston.
“Slow and steady. I’ll be a little late. Just stinks. Wasn’t ready for it,” said Matthew Burke.
All lanes have since reopened.
