Infrastructure work ahead of MGM Springfield’s grand opening will result in some traffic interruptions across the river.
Route 57 in Agawam, as well as Elm Street and Route 5 in West Springfield, can expect some delays Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Lanes will be closed in order to put up various signs for the casino.
22News spoke with one resident that doesn’t seem too concerned with the closures.
“Signage is something that is gonna help with a lot of the traffic problems that will occur,” said Gregory Fairhurst of Agawam.
The right lane and shoulder closures on Route 57 began Monday night at 9 p.m.
The right lane of Route 5 will be closed starting at 7 a.m. in the morning.
