Downed trees reported around western Massachusetts

(WWLP) – 22News has received multiple reports of trees down across western Massachusetts.

The 22News Storm Team has issued a Weather Alert due to the risk for power outages and tree damage during the highest wind gusts. A Wind Advisory has been issued for Hampshire and Franklin Counties until 7pm for wind gusts potentially as high as 45 mph.

  • Tree down on High Street near the intersection with Pleasant Street; Road temporarily closed

Springfield

  • Tree down on Hillside Road in Deerfield; Road blocked off from North Main Street to North Hillside Road

Hadley

  • Tree down on Crestview Drive (viewer report)

Whately

Whatley police report that trees and branches have been falling into the roadways in town. One vehicle was struck by a falling tree on River Road, according to police.
