Injuries reported in accident near Exit 9 on I-90 in Sturbridge

There are significant delays on the Mass Pike in Sturbridge following a car accident Wednesday afternoon.

According to MassDOT Spokesperson Jacquelyn Goddard, the crash by Exit 9 in is being cleared and is causing delays on both the East and West sides of the highway. 

State Police Sgt. Nicole Morrell told 22News the two car accident happened at 11:05 a.m.

Morrell said there was an injury reported and that a life flight helicopter had been requested. 

She said that while there wasn’t any immediate information on closures, I-90 would be closed when the helicopter landed. 

There was no immediate word on the number of people injured or the extent of injuries.
