Intersection at Dwight St. and Bruce Landon Way in Springfield reopened after car accident


A downtown Springfield intersection has reopened after it was closed after a car accident early Wednesday morning.

According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, at 5:20 a.m. a driver hit a parked car at the intersection of Dwight Street and Bruce Landon Way.

Walsh said the woman’s car rolled, and she was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to Springfield Fire Department Spokesperson Dennis Leger, firefighters were called to 115 Dwight Street at 5:27 a.m. for a report of an accident with someone trapped in their car.

Leger said when firefighters got to the accident they found a car on its roof with a woman inside.

Firefighters were able to help the woman crawl out of the car.

The intersection was closed while crews work to clear the accident.
