Massachusetts State Police investigating deadly crash in Sturbridge

One woman is dead after a car crash in Sturbridge Monday morning.

According to Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 7:20 a.m. troopers were called to the intersection of Route 49 and Putnam Road for a car accident.

State police said 50-year-old Kelly Lacroix from Spencer was driving West on Podunk Road and was attempting to go South on Route 49 after an intersection when she drove in front of a tractor trailer.

The woman was found to be dead at the site of the crash.

The driver of the truck, a 54-year-old man from Manchester, New Hampshire, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Route 49 was closed in the area of the crash for several hours while State Police from the Sturbridge Barracks investigatated.
