No injuries reported after East Main St. house fire in Chicopee

A section of East Main Street was closed while crews work to put out a house fire Friday night.

Chicopee Police spokesman Officer Mike Wilk told 22News both firefighters and police were in the area of Main and Hilton streets assisting with the house fire.

Officer Wilk said one occupant on the first floor was able to get out safe and that there were no injuries.

The fire was contained to the top level of the home.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area while crews worked on the house fire.
