Part of South Branch Pkwy in Springfield re-opened after downed high voltage wires

South Branch Parkway near Pennsylvania Avenue was closed to traffic after wires came down during Monday’s severe weather.

As of 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, 

Dennis Leger of the Springfield Fire Department told 22News high voltage wires came down and caused a brush fire.

Springfield police also told 22News Chesterfield and Derryfield Avenues were also shut down Monday night for a period of time due to the downed wires.

No further details were available.
