MassDOT announced paving work will be taking place on Route 10 in Southampton throughout the week.
According to MassDOT Spokesperson Patrick Marvin, the paving began Monday morning at 7:00 and will last until 3:30 p.m.
Marvin said during the work hours there will be one lane of alternating traffic open to drivers. Signs and messaging will be in place to help guide drivers throughout the work.
MassDOT is advising drivers to reduce their speed and use caution when traveling through the area.
22News spoke with one man who said although it’s a nuisance — the work is paying off.
“The area coming down Southampton, Route 10 was really bad right to the bottom of the hill before you get to the fire department,” Steve Marceau said. “They fixed that and it looks a lot better now.”
MassDOT hopes to have this project done within the next couple of weeks.
