NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Part of Elm Street Northampton is still closed Monday after a water main break Sunday morning.
The city of Northampton tweeted that the road will remain closed Monday until the damaged stormwater system can be repaired and the roadway restored.
Elm Street will remain closed Monday morning more than 24 hours after a water main break.
Northampton police told 22News, police were called to the break just after 5 a.m. Sunday.
Elm Street is closed from Nutting Avenue to Riverside Drive as crews continue to repair the water main. While there is a detour in place, police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
Water services for several homes on Elm Street will be impacted Monday while crews work to fix the break.
