RUSSELL, Mass. (WWLP) – Massachusetts State Police say one person died on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Russell Thursday morning.

According to Massachusetts State Police Spokesperson Dave Procopio, at around 6:20 a.m. Troopers were called to an incident involving a Hyundai Sonata that struck a guardrail and went off the westbound side of the Mass. Pike in Russell.

The adult man from Worcester died due to self-inflicted injuries. State Police is not releasing his name. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
