Snowy side roads could make for a slippery commute

Traffic

An overnight storm brought some snow to western Massachusetts Wednesday morning.

Snow total predictions were spot on in Chicopee, with only about three inches on the ground Wednesday morning.

Franklin County, however, woke up to some of the most snow in the area with about six inches of light snow.

The snow, however, is light and fluffy, so people won’t have to spend a lot of time scraping ice when clearing off their car Wednesday, unlike with the last winter storm.

Driving in downtown Springfield on I-91 is just fine. It was purely pavement early Wednesday morning with not a single drop of leftover snow.

However, many people take side roads to get to the highways, and that’s going to be a little more difficult as they’re not as clear. So as always, it doesn’t hurt to give yourself extra time during the morning commute.
