PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) – The Palmer Fire Department was called to assist contain a fuel spill on the Mass Pike Thursday morning.
A tractor-trailer struck a guardrail on the highway heading westbound, which led to a fuel spill. Massachusetts Highway crews repaired the guard rail and cleaned up the fuel spill with assistance from the Palmer Fire Department.
State Police Trooper Brandon Doherty told 22News all lanes have since been reopened. The fire department estimates that nearly 110 gallons of fuel were released on the Mass Pike.
