Tuesday’s rain hardly a deal breaker for some Big E visitors

News

Tuesday’s heavy rains didn’t keep people away from the Big E.

As the rain came down Tuesday morning, visitors made their way into the Big E in West Springfield.

This couple from Manchester, Connecticut made the trip because they actually love coming to the Big E when it’s raining.

“Chilli dogs taste as good in the rain as they do in the sun,” said Dan Varga. “It’s beautiful, I mean, might as well be in the Big E.”

When the rain got heavy, many retreated to the buildings along the Avenue of States for a learning experience they might otherwise have missed out on. The Massachusetts building provided a wealth of information for those from out of state.

“We found out, I never saw a yellow raspberry, so I learned something today already,” said Nancy Silva of Rhode Island.

As one Big E visitor told 22News, she came to the fair for food, and that food tasted just as good in the rain.
