AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – The University of Massachusetts Amherst campus food was ranked #1 in the country. The Princeton Review announced the results on Monday.

UMass has been ranked among the top 3 schools nationally since 2013, but this is their first time being ranked on top. The university’s campus dining is the largest college dining services operation in the country, serving 5.5-million meals per year.

UMass student Salma Anastaasio told 22News, “The variety and the care they put into it. There’s just so many different options and it’s all top notch ingredients they use so it’s pretty good.”

“This honor is shared by every member of our staff who work each day to serve healthy, sustainable and delicious meals to our students,” said Ken Toong, executive director of Auxiliary Enterprises at UMass Amherst. “This ranking is also a tribute to our students, whose high expectations drive our team to excel.”

The university will be among the top schools featured live on NBC’s Today Show, Tuesday morning, between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
