Victim identified in Palmer deadly stabbing

Authorities have identified the man who was killed in a stabbing in Palmer Thursday night. 

The Hampden District Attorney’s Office identified the victim as 43-year-old Michael Strindberg of Palmer. 

Officers were called to 321 River Road in the Thorndike section of town on Thursday. When they arrived, they allegedly found a victim, Strindberg, suffering from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. 

He was taken to Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer where he died. 

Sixty-two-year-old Robert Nompleggi was arrested at the site of the stabbing. He has been charged with murder, intimidation of a witness, and violating a restraining order. He was arraigned Friday in Palmer District Court and is being held without the right to bail. 

Palmer Police, State Police with the Hampden District Attorney’s Office and the Murder Unit of the Hampden District Attorney’s Office are looking into the deadly stabbing.
