(WWLP) – Instagram accidentally changed the way some users scrolled through their feeds Thursday, causing panic on social media about the feared new update.
For more than an hour, ‘New Instagram’ and ‘#TheInstagramUpdate’ trended on Twitter as users shared their opinions of the app’s new horizontal scrolling. Users were instructed to tap through posts instead of scrolling up and down.
By noon, Instagram sent out a Tweet itself, apologizing for the ‘bug’ that affected some users.
Due to a bug, some users saw a change to the way their feed appears today. We quickly fixed the issue and feed is back to normal. We apologize for any confusion.— Instagram (@instagram) December 27, 2018
