Weather Alert Day Canceled But Still Cold This Afternoon

News

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Single conditions and feel like temperatures below zero started the day Friday morning. A Wind Chill Advisory was posted for all of western Massachusetts Friday morning but that has now been canceled thanks to winds diminishing.

This afternoon is still expected to be cold with temperatures only in the teens, making western Massachusetts a good 15-18 degrees below average for this time of the year. Due to the cold still continue to wear the layers and winter jackets. Cover up your kids and limit your skin’s exposure to the cold in order to protect yourself. Also, make sure you are checking on the elderly and as always, bring your pets inside!

Even though it will be sunny this afternoon do not expect the sun to warm us up.

Today’s Forecast

Some schools have delayed their openings or closed for the day Friday due to the extreme cold.
