West Springfield residents concerned about Halloween decoration vandalism

West Springfield residents complained someone had been vandalizing their Halloween decorations.

A post in the West Springfield open forum said decorations have been stolen or destroyed on several streets over the last few weeks, including Amostown Road, Poplar Ave, and Laurel Road.

The West Springfield police department said no one has filed any reports about such incidents, West Springfield resident David Krupczak told 22News it happened to him last week. He said, “We didn’t want them to win out, but it was so destroyed that we decided we would take the fencing down, and move the decorations closer to the house so they could be out for the kids when they come trick-or-treating.”

The post in the West Springfield Facebook forum said residents are checking to see if any security camera footage had caught anyone in the act.
