#WhyToysForTots: The Ganieany family

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) — WWLP-22News is continuing our holiday tradition of collecting Toys for Tots for western Massachusetts children in need. This year, we want to hear why YOU are donating.

Paul Ganieany –

I would first like to thank Channel 22 for reporting the information about my brother Chris when he went missing on Sept. 1, 2018 and for also reporting to the public that unfortunately he was found but not the way we all wanted him to be found. We would also like to thank all the various police departments that were working on the case trying to locate him. I wanted to let you know that my mother and father came in and donated the boys and girls bikes on behalf of our family to Toys for Tots in memory of Christopher Ganieany. He loved to go bike riding so, our family thought that since our Christmas will be very difficult for all of us without him, that it would help ease the pain that our family is going thru if we could help two children have a wonderful Christmas. We know that Chris would have been very happy because he was a father too!

We hope that by us donating to Toys for Tots that it will also help keep Christopher’s memory alive forever!!!

We will always love and miss him.

When you stop by our lobby, snap a photo and use the hashtag #WhyToysForTots on social media to let us know why you donated. Don’t forget to tag 22News in your post.

We’ll also be in the lobby at times to capture why you donate to Toys for Tots on camera!
