A 10-year-old in Carthage, Missouri is being recognized by an international organization for creating an empowering song to combat bullying.
Emme Rogers recently wrote and recorded “Stand Up” – an anti-bullying anthem that has already made it onto iTunes and Spotify.
The song has powerful lyrics but Rogers’ mission is greater than just getting people to listen.
“It makes me feel like I am the voice for the people that are being bullied,” said Rogers.
The song caught the attention of ChildFund, an organization that provides nutrition, medical care and education to children in impoverished countries.
ChildFund is paying for Emme to record her song in Nashville, and to attend a song-writing workshop.
In return, Emme is tasked with finding sponsors for 30 children that ChildFund supports.
