Bridgewater man charged in attempted armed home invasion

(WPRI) — Police have arrested a Bridgewater man after they say he attempted to rob three people at knifepoint Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Raynham Police Department, officers responded to a King Street home just before 1:30 p.m. for reports of an attempted robbery.

Police said the suspect had tried to rob three people at knifepoint while they were hanging out inside of a shed in the backyard. The victims, two 18-year-old men and one 17-year-old boy, told police the suspect was wearing a bandana around his face and demanded all of their electronics and cash.

According to police, the victims were able to disarm the suspect and wrestle him to the ground.

The suspect, identified as Edward Harnett, 18, was charged with home invasion and three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was arraigned in Taunton District Court Thursday afternoon.
