A Kentucky man is fighting for his life after crashing his motorcycle and spending 12 hours alone in a ditch.
A family friend said Jamie Mardis took a ride on a Suzuki DR 350 dirt bike around 8 p.m. Sunday. He was found around 8:35 a.m. Monday morning, clinging to life in a ditch along a country road.
Road. Crash investigators said he was driving west when he lost control and struck a utility pole.
Ryland Heights Assistant Fire Chief Chuck Hopple said they found Mardis in bad shape.
“When we got there, he was off in a ditch, pretty bad off,” Hopple said.
He was taken by AirCare to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Family friend Mike Friemuth said Mardis is undergoing scans, has a broken leg and hasn’t started talking yet.
