(WPRI) – Days after Yarmouth K9 Sergeant Sean Gannon was laid to rest, flowers sent in his memory and placed on his cruiser are bringing comfort to others who might need a little cheer.

Sergeant Gannon’s wife and family donated the flowers to the Cape Cod based non-profit Flower Angels USA.

The New Bedford Police Department posted pictures of the donation to its official Facebook Page, writing that volunteers were moved to tears when Yarmouth police showed up with three truck loads of flowers.

The bouquets made in memory of Sgt. Gannon were delivered to several nursing homes, along with eighteen police departments on the Cape.
