A Kansas City, Missouri man was forced to part ways with his seven-foot-long pet alligator Wednesday, after a sheriff’s deputy spotted the 200-pound reptile while serving an eviction notice.
The alligator, named Katfish, was inside a tub when animal control officers removed him from his owner’s childhood home.
He was living off of a steady diet that included: chicken nuggets, steak, deer, fish and rats. His owner, Sean Casey, said he’s going to miss his beloved pet.
“Sometimes he gets kind of smelly but he’s a big cuddly gator. He wags his tail when I come home,” said Casey. “It’s not a vicious animal like some people may make them out to be.”
