James “Whitey” Bulger moved to federal facility in Oklahoma


(WPRI) – Notorious Boston mobster, James “Whitey” Bulger, has been moved to a new federal prison.  

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the 89-year-old was transferred to FTC Oklahoma City from the Coleman United States Penitentiary in Sumterville, Florida

The 89-year-old was given a double life sentence after he was convicted in 2013 of taking part in 11 murders, conspiracy, and racketeering.

Bulger has spent time at the Oklahoma City facility in the past, in both 2013 and 2014.

Citing sources, the Boston Globe reports that this recent move is a result of Bulger’s deteriorating health and he’s expected to be moved to a federal prison medical facility.
