(WPRI) – An investigation is underway after a woman crashed her Jeep through the front of a vacant home in Plainville.
According to police, the driver hit a utility pole and a tree on E Bacon Street just before 8 a.m. Friday then careened into the home, landing on top of a gas main.
The gas company was called in to shut off the main so crews could remove the vehicle from the home.
Police said the woman, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The home, which is for sale, sustained significant damage in the crash. The town’s building commissioner has deemed the structure unsafe.
